On behalf of all the teachers here at First Steps, we would like to give a big THANK YOU to all of the wonderful Teacher Appreciation treats this week. We all feel so blessed to have such loving and supportive parents. It is such a privilege to be invloved in your family’s lives and be a part in the nurturing and development of your children. They are all so special!
Today we had a lesson in God's perfect timing and true provision in our lives. In our science discovery center our eggs began to hatch. It is such a miracle to see! The children and the teachers watched in amazement as two baby chicks emerged from their eggs. The first one came out with a sudden crack and roll. It slowly gained strength as his feathers dried and as it did, he crept to other eggs that were rocking and peeping. This little chick just minutes after birth began to encourage other eggs to make it through the process. It hugged close to eggs that were peeping as if to say, "keep trying, you can do it, I did, I am here!" After a while, a second chick cracked through the shell and two students, a mom and a few teachers were there to see it.
We are learning so much about chickens through this experience. Did you know that inside the egg is a pocket of air that is just enough to sustain the chick through the hatch process? You might have noticed this when you boil and egg and peel off the shell. Also, just before the chick hatches it digests the yolk and this nourishment sustains the chick for the hatch process and for several hours afterward. God is truly amazing.
Matthew 6:25-26
Jesus says in Matthew, "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
We should never doubt for a minute that God is in control and loves us. His plan for us is so perfect and all of creation, including the sweet little chicks that are hatching here at school, are a part of that divine design.
Thank you for a wonderful week of learning and blessings!
